Since 2007, Kevin Burkhardt has been the Mets Field Reporter for SportsNet New York (SNY). Burkhardt fills in when needed for Gary Cohen doing play-by-play, and has done so on FOX. He also serves as the host of “Mets Hot Stove,” and contributes to other programs on SNY, including “SNY Spotlight” and “Geico SportsNite.”
Kevin also loves football, serving as the Dallas Cowboys’ play-by-play radio announcer for Compass Media Networks since 2011.
Prior to joining SNY, Burkhardt had been with WFAN radio since 2003. He covered all sports (including Jets beat reporter for 2 years), hosted talk shows and provided 20/20 updates. He spent 2 years as the afternoon sports anchor on WCBS 880 in NY.
New Jersey is definitely in Burkhardt’s blood. A native of Bloomfield, NJ, and a graduate of William Paterson College (now University), Kevin now lives down the Jersey Shore with his wife and son. Fitting, since every family vacation when he was young was a trip to Ocean City, NJ. Kevin also has Celiac disease, so it’s all about gluten-free food.
